Arkema to Buy Total’s Coating and Photocure Resins Units

Arkema plans to acquire Total’s coating resins and photocure resins activities for a €550- million ($736-million) enterprise value. The deal would bolster Arkema’s acrylics segment, and establish the company as leader in the coating resins market. The acquisition will also “provide Arkema with new growth drivers in Asia,” the company says. Arkema expects the deal to close in the first half of 2011.
