AkzoNobel Names Ton Büchner as its Next CEO

Büchner: Takes helm in 2012. AkzoNobel’s supervisory board has appointed Ton Büchner as the company’s next CEO, following a decision by Hans Wijers to step down at the AkzoNobel annual meeting in 2012. Büchner has been CEO of pump maker Sulzer (Winterthur, Switzerland) since 2007. He has held a number of leadership positions at Sulzer, including presidencies of two divisions: Sulzer Turbomachinery Services and Sulzer Pumps.
