Wacker Starts Up Silicon Plant in Germany

Wacker Chemie has begun producing hyperpure polycrystalline silicon at its Nünchritz, Germany site. First deposition reactors at the new production complex have already ramped up production of polysilicon for sale, and the plant will begin to operate at its full capacity rate of 15,000 m.t./year during the second quarter of 2012, Wacker says.
