The firms have been partners since 2009 when they began collaborating on using Solazyme’s technology to produce tailored oils for some of Unilever’s soap, personal care, and nutritional products. The two-year extension includes unspecified funding by Unilever and a multi-year agreement for commercial quantities of Solazyme’s oils.
