Symrise Reports Increased Net Profits and Sales

Symrise (Holzminden, Germany), a flavors and fragrances producer, says that net profits rose by 10% for all of 2011, to â‚¬1.58 billion ($2.07 billion), on sales up 1%, to â‚¬146.5 million. Earnings per share also increased in 2011, to â‚¬1.24 compared with â‚¬1.13 in 2010. Ebitda, however, decreased 5% in 2011, to â‚¬315.9 million. Slower sales growth was due to attributed to a subdued business cycle, and the discontinuation of the companyâ€™s low-margin activities in 2011, Symrise says.
