Concerns: Legislation would study, but not ban, BPA. San Francisco officials have proposed amendments that remove bisphenol A (BPA) from legislation that would enact a city-wide ban on certain chemicals in children’s products. San Francisco proposed a ban last year on six phthalates and BPA in products intended for young children, which prompted several business groups including the California Retailers Association (Sacramento) and ACC to sue the city.
