Rockwood Adds Butyllithium

Rockwood Holdings says its Chemetall Lithium India (Mumbai) business unit has opened a butyllithium production facility at the Dahej special economic zone in the state of Gujarat, India. The site will supply Chemetall’s lithium products in India and other markets in the region. Butyllithium is widely used as an initiator for anionic polymerization and as a base in organic, pharmaceutical or agrochemical syntheses, Rockwood says.
