Rhodia, a Solvay subsidiary, and resources company Tantalus Rare Earths (Düsseldorf) have signed a letter of intent (LOI), under which Tantalus will provide an exclusive supply of rare earths to Rhodia. The two companies will also cooperate to develop an optimal process for generating rare earth concentrates from Tantalus’s near-surface rare earths project in Madagascar. The Tantalus project is one of the largest clay-hosted rare earth resources outside China, with 130 million m.t. of rare earth oxide...
