Report: APIs to grow in Asia

The active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) industry in Asia/Pacific earned revenues of $1.12 billion in 2011 and is estimated to reach $1.79 billion in 2018, according to recent analysis by Frost & Sullivan. The growth will largely be due to Asia’s growing population and increasing incidence of life-style diseases, Frost & Sullivan says. “The focus on health care has enabled Australasia to corner a large share of the global pharmaceuticals market, compelling market majors to train their spotlight on emerging countries,” says Tridisha Goswami...
