Lugar (R., IN) have introduced the BioFuels Security Act, which aims to increase renewable fuels use through higher standards, greater availability of ethanol at the pumps, and increased production of cars equipped to run on alternative fuels. The bill proposes a new renewable fuels standard that calls for 60 billion gals/year of ethanol and biodiesel to be included in the U.S. motor vehicle supply by 2030.
