Powder coatings growing quickly in China

The thermosetting powder coatings sector, which grew quickly in industrialized countries during the 1980s and 1990s, is now growing more quickly in China and other developing economies, according to a new report from IHS Chemical. The segment’s market size totaled $8 billion in 2013, double that of 2004. Around 200, powder coatings’ production peaked in Western Europe at about 335,000 m.t.; today, production totals 250,000 m.t.
