LDK Solar Plans to Triple Polysilicon Capacity by 2013

LDK Solar (Xinyu, China) has broken ground on a 30,000-m.t./year polycrystalline silicon manufacturing plant at Hohhot, China. Production at the site, along with other initiatives, will increase its polysilicon production capacity more than three-fold by 2013, the company says. LDK’s LDK Silicon & Chemical Technology subsidiary currently has the capacity to produce 17,000 m.t. annually.
