Kao Builds Surfactants Facility in China

Kao Corp. says it will invest ¥5 billion ($63 million) to build a production site in the Jinshan district of Shanghai, China. The plant will mainly produce surfactants used as raw materials for industrial-use cleaners and toiletries, in and materials usedfor molding. The site is expected to be online in 2014. Kao says the Chinese market is a top priority. Its other chemical businesses will boost production of materials used in high growth end markets, including steel and steel sheet, civil engineering and construction, and agents for molding, the company...
