Chemical Week Magazine :: Specialty Chemicals Evonik Expands Into Hydroxyl-Functionalized Polybutadiene10:48 AM MDT | July 8, 2011 Evonik Industries will build a functionalized polybutadiene plant, allowing the company for the first time to offer hydroxyl-functionalized polybutadiene (HTBD) to its customers in the adhesives and sealants market. Evonik will build the plant at Marl, Germany, and it is slated to come onstream in late 2012. The company did not disclose the capacity or cost details. HTPB is used primarily in sealing compounds for insulating glass windows and in adhesives for automobile manufacture. Evonik already manufactures liquid unfunctionalized...
