Chemical Week Magazine :: Specialty Chemicals Cosmetics Labeling Law Introduced12:19 PM MDT | July 22, 2011 | —Nancy Seewald Representatives Tammy Baldwin (D., WI), Edward Markey (D., MA), and Jan Schakowsky (D., IL) introduced a bill recently that would require stricter labeling requirements for cosmetics and allow FDA to recall products it deems pose a danger to human health. The legislation, the Safe Cosmetics Act of 2011, is an updated version of a bill introduced last year with changes made to ease any potential burdens on small cosmetics manufacturers, the lawmakers say.
