Chemical Week Magazine :: Specialty Chemicals Codexis, Chemtex Collaborate on Detergent Alcohols3:34 PM MDT | August 22, 2011 | —Kara Sissell Codexis has signed a deal with Chemtex (Wilmington, NC), an engineering and technology firm owned by Mossi & Ghisolfi (M&G), to develop and produce biobased detergent alcohols for the household products market. The deal includes development of a process for converting cellulosic biomass to detergent alcohols using Chemtex’s Proesa pretreatment and viscosity reduction technology and Codexis’ directed evolution technology.
