Cabot Expands Fumed Silica Capacity in China

Cabot China, a subsidiary of Cabot Corp., and China National Bluestar (Beijing) say they will expand fumed silica capacity by 15,000 m.t./year at the companies' joint venture plant in Jiangxi Province, China. Completion is expected by the end of 2011 and will bring capacity to about 20,000 m.t./year, the company says. “This expansion will extend our ability to be a long-term, reliable source of high quality material for Bluestar and our global customer base,” says Patrick Prevost, president and CEO of Cabot.   The project will produce fumed...
