CP Kelco expands pectin site

CP Kelco is investing 60 million Danish kroner ($10.7 million) to expand its pectin production site at Lille Skensved, Denmark. CP Kelco previously spent 15 million Danish kroner to ready the plant for expansion. The capacity of the plant, the worldâ€™s largest pectin-production site, has not been disclosed. The expansion is expected to be complete by mid-2014. CP Kelco produces pectin used in low-sugar jams, yogurt fruit preparation, and bakery glazes at the plant. Pectin demand is rising because of the substanceâ€™s â€śfunctionality in fruit and yogurt...
