Ashland rolling out new HEC paint thickener in China

New HEC: The new product is ‘still the same molecule’ as traditional HEC thickener. Ashland’s specialty ingredients division is rolling out a new line of hydroxyethylcellulose (HEC) paint thickeners, with the product launch slated to begin in China at the end of this month. The new HEC powder “prevents lumping in the dissolution process in paintmaking,” says Shruti Singhal, global marketing director/specialty ingredients at Ashland.
