ADM forms biobased superabsorbent JV in Sri Lanka

Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), CIC Holdings (Colombo, Sri Lanka), and Chemanex (Colombo) say they have formed a joint venture to build and operate a superabsorbent polymers (SAP) production facility near Colombo utilizing starch as feedstock. ADM will be the majority owner of the jv, named Chemcel, and will market the SAP under the ADM BioSAP brand name. The project’s cost and capacity are not being disclosed.
