Lanxess to Buy Syngenta’s Material Protection Business

Lanxess has agreed to acquire Syngenta’s Material Protection business. Lanxess says the acquisition will make it one of the leading suppliers of biocides for construction materials. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The acquired business will be merged into Lanxess’s existing Material Protection Products (MPP) business. The deal is expected to close in April 2011.
