Oilfield chemicals: Cheap oil to stunt, not stop, growth

The global oilfield chemicals market is expected to grow mutedly in 2015 and possibly beyond after growing rapidly in recent years, driven by the rapid development of hydraulic fracturing in the oil and gas sector. Sharply lower oil prices—Brent crude fell by over 50% during the last half of 2014—will slow growth in the oilfield chemicals market but not halt it completely, according to a new report from IHS Chemical.
