Washington Bid to Ban BPA

Washington state lawmakers have proposed a ban on bisphenol A (BPA) in products intended for children under the age of three. The bans, proposed by House Representative Mary Lou Dickerson (D., Seattle) and Senator Karen Keiser (D., Kent), would apply to products including baby bottles and infant formula. The Washington state House Environmental Health Committee held a hearing on the proposal last week. Separately, Representative Edward Markey (D., MA) has proposed a federal law that would ban BPA in certain products, but it has not passed the full Congress...
