Senate Panel Approves New OMB Unit Chief

The Senate Homeland and Government Affairs Committee has approved President Obama’s nominee Cass Sunstein for head of the White House Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). Senator Tom Coburn (R., OK) lodged the only vote against Sunstein, but he did not give a reason for his vote. The nomination now heads to a vote by the full Senate.
