Senate Bill Would Expand U.S. Natural Gas Supply

Senate Republicans have introduced an industry-backed bill that would expand U.S. natural gas production offshore and in Alaska, a proposal the lawmakers say is necessary to stem rising oil and gas cost. The American Energy Production Act of 2008 would produce an estimated 24 billion additional bbs/day of oil and an estimated 47 trillion cu ft of natural gas.
