Report Details EPA Criticism of Dow’s Dioxin Cleanup

Dow Chemical is disputing EPA claims regarding the company’s progress on a dioxin cleanup project at its Midland, MI facility. EPA’s criticism of Dow was detailed in an internal EPA memorandum obtained by the Detroit Free Press, which reported the conflict earlier this month. EPA says in the memo that Dow “concealed data and studies, tried to keep documents confidential that should have been made public, and insisted on negotiating cleanup details with the Governor Jennifer Granholm’s (D.) office,” rather than with state regulators...
