President Bush Signs Bill Banning Phthalates

President Bush has signed into law legislation that will ban  six phthalates in products intended for children under the age of 12. The phthalate restrictions are part of a broader bill to strengthen the federal Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC; Washington), which has been criticized in the past several years for failing to protect children from hazardous substances in toys and other products.
