NIH’s National Toxicology Program (NTP) has decided that the extensive testing of laboratory animals would be better used in other risk assessments, officials say. The decision, made December 6 by NTP’s Board of Scientific Counselors, was in response to a request by some NIH officials seeking more testing to determine DEP’s effects on reproductive health.
