NIH Discontinues Phthalate Review

The toxicology program of the National Institutes of Health (NIH; Bethesda, MD) says it will not conduct additional health effects testing on diethyl phthalate (DEP). NIH’s National Toxicology Program (NTP) has decided that the extensive testing of laboratory animals would be better used in other risk assessments, officials say.
