Hexion, Residents Finalize Class-Action Settlement

A U.S. district court judge has approved a class-action settlement between Hexion Specialty Chemicals and residents who live near the company’s phenolic resins plant in Louisville, KY. The settlement requires Hexion to spend about $4 million to upgrade the facility, which includes improving air pollution controls and the water treatment system, and enhancing control of odors from the plant, the company says.
