FDA to Update Public on BPA

The FDA will update the public about bisphenol A (BPA) at a February 24 public meeting, according to a notice published in the February 10 Federal Register. FDA has ruled that BPA is safe for use in food packaging and beverage containers, a decision that generated criticism from some lawmakers and scientific experts (CW, Aug. 25, 2008, p. 6).
