FDA Holds Meeting on BPA Safety Debate

FDA officials last week heard a panel of outside experts comment on the administration’s recent safety assessment of bisphenol A (BPA) in food contact materials. FDA’s assessment released late last month found that an “adequate margin of safety” exists to prevent harm from BPA in food and beverage containers (CW, Aug. 25, p.6).
