The revisions would align the EU’s regulations with recent changes to international agreements, including the expedited phase-out of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) under the Montreal Protocol (CW, Sept. 26, 2007, p. 45). The proposal also includes measures to reduce and ultimately phase out the use of methyl bromide, the commission says.
