EPA to Monitor Air Toxics Near Schools

EPA administrator Lisa Jackson launched an initiative last week to monitor the level of air toxics near schools, focusing in part on areas near large industrial facilities. EPA says it has established an aggressive time line for prioritizing and monitoring schools to determine whether any are exposed to high levels of toxic air pollution.
