EPA Okays Trials for Arkema Methyl Bromide Alternative

Arkema says EPA has granted it an experimental use permit for a new soil fumigant, called Paladin, which the company says is an “attractive substitute for methyl bromide.” The active ingredient, which Arkema did not disclose, is not yet approved for general use by EPA. The experimental use permit allows for the product to be applied to a total of 200 acres in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, the company says.
