ECHA adds seven SVHCs to candidate list for authorization

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA; Helsinki) says that it has added seven new substances of very high concern (SVHC) to the candidate list for authorization, under the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, and Restriction of Chemicals (Reach) regulation. The candidate list now contains 151 substances, ECHA says. The new substances were added following either unanimous agreement by the member state committee or when no comments challenging identification of a substance as an SVHC were received by the agency.
