Bid to Suspend Product Safety Law Fails

Congress will not take up a proposal by Senator Jim DeMint (R., SC) that would have altered a controversial product safety law. Lawmakers have stripped DeMint’s amendment, which would have delayed and changed the law, from the economic stimulus bill that was poised to pass Congress at CW presstime.
