Transcept to Acquire Novacea

Biopharmaceutical company Novacea (San Francisco) and privately held specialty pharma company Transcept Pharmaceuticals (Pt. Richmond, CA) say they have agreed to merge. The transaction is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2008 or first quarter of 2009, the companies say.
