Recip Buys AstraZeneca Plant

Recip Pharma (Haninge, Sweden), a contract manufacturer, says it has completed the acquisition of AstraZeneca’s sterile products manufacturing plant near Monts, France. Financial terms were not disclosed. Recip Pharma will operate the plant to manufacture and fill vials with a range of AstraZeneca’s anaesthetic products. The acquisition is Recip Pharma’s first outside of Sweden. AstraZeneca says it decided to sell the plant because of growing competition from generic anaesthetic manufacturers.
