Ranbaxy Recalls Antibiotic in U.S.

Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals, a Ranbaxy Laboratories (Gurgaon, India) subsidiary, says it has voluntarily recalled its antibiotic nitrofurantoin capsules from the U.S. market, as certain lots of the product did not conform with approved laboratory specifications. The recall is being coordinated with the U.S. FDA and will be on a retail level, Ranbaxy says.
