Chemical Week Magazine :: Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals Ranbaxy Hires Former NYC Mayor to Tackle FDA Import Restrictionsactive pharmaceutical ingredients9:13 AM MDT | September 29, 2008 | Deepti Ramesh India’s largest pharmaceutical company Ranbaxy Laboratories (Gurgaon, India) says it has hired former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and his consulting firm Giuliani Partners (New York) to “advise and review” compliance issues related to the U.S. FDA’s recent ban on certain Ranbaxy drug imports. The FDA recently halted imports of generic drugs made at two of Ranbaxy’s Indian plants (CW, Sept. 22, p. 4).
