Chemical Week Magazine :: Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals Hovione to Buy Irish Pharma Ingredients Site from Pfizer12:58 PM MST | December 19, 2008 | Alex Scott Hovione (Loures, Portugal) says it has agreed to buy Pfizer’s multipurpose active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) plant at Loughbeg, Ireland. The deal is scheduled to be completed by early April 2009. Financial terms were not disclosed. Loughbeg: Hovione eyes first site in Ireland. The site, to be renamed Hovione Cork, manufactures intermediates for APIs for Pfizer’s cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor.
