Chemical Week Magazine :: Pharmaceuticals & Fine Chemicals Hovione to Buy Irish Pharma Ingredients Site from Pfizer9:00 AM MST | December 11, 2008 | Alex Scott Privately owned pharmaceutical ingredients manufacturer Hovione (Loures, Portugal) says it has agreed to buy Pfizer’s multipurpose active pharma ingredients (API) plant at Loughbeg, Ireland. The deal is scheduled to be completed by early April 2009. Financial terms were not disclosed. The site, to be renamed Hovione Cork, manufactures intermediates for API ingredients used in the cholesterol-lowering drug Lipitor. Hovione says as part of the deal that it will continue to provide manufacturing services for Pfizer. The multipurpose plant adds 427 cubic...
