Boehringer to Acquire California Biotech Firm

Boehringer Ingelheim says it has agreed to acquire privately owned biopharmaceutical company Actimis Pharmaceuticals (San Diego) for as much as $515 million, depending on the successful development of an Actimis asthma drug. The deal is to be done in phases, depending on the progress of the asthma compound AP768, which is in phase 1 of clinical development.
