BASF Builds Presence in High Growth Excipients

Kolter: New excipients an help protect drug patents. BASF is strengthening its pharmaceutical excipients business. It recently formed an alliance with Catalent Pharm Solutions (Somerset, NJ), and introduced a new range of excipients for promoting drug solubility.  BASF says there are more developments in its product pipeline. BASF’s total 2011 sales in contract pharma fine chemicals and excipients were not disclosed, but Karl Kolter, head of R&D for Pharma Ingredients, tells CW that the company’s estimate for sales growth for excipients...
