Aesica Shortlists Firms for U.S. Acquisition

Aesica Pharmaceuticals (Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K.), a supplier of active pharmaceutical ingredients, formulations, and custom synthesis, says it is seeking to acquire a U.S. formulations plant and that it has short-listed a few companies. Aesica expects to make an offer soon, Robert Hardy, CEO of Aesica told CW at the CPhI pharma ingredient exposition, recently held in Frankfurt (CW, Oct. 13/20, p. 28). Further details about the acquisition were not disclosed. Aesica is also in talks with several Indian pharma companies for possible manufacturing partnerships...
