Chemical Week Magazine :: Other Groups Seek Pesticide Phaseout2:07 PM MDT | July 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Environmental groups including Beyond Pesticides (Washington) have filed a petition to reopen a lawsuit in federal court to try to force regulators to accelerate the phase-out of the pesticide azinphos-methyl (AZM). The lawsuit, originally filed in 2004, seeks to also force a phaseout of pesticides chlorpyrifos and phosmet. Chlorpyrifos was phased out for home uses in 2005, but is still authorized for agricultural applications.
