Goldschmidt to Pay EPA Fine

Degussa’s Goldschmidt Chemical has reached an agreement with EPA to resolve alleged clean air violations at its Mapleton, IL chemical plant. Under the agreement, Goldschmidt will pay a $25,000 penalty, and spend $600,000 to remove and “properly” dispose of material in its sludge...
