Chemical Week Magazine :: Other Global and U.S. Chemical Volumes Grew in 20062:15 PM MDT | July 30, 2007 | Chemical Week Editorial Staff Global chemical volumes are estimated to have grown 4.2%, and U.S. chemical volumes increased 2.5% last year, due largely to a stable global economy, ACC says. The fastest growth was in China, which advanced about 20%, ACC says. Mideast chemical volumes grew 7.8%; Asia/Pacific volumes climbed 6.5%; Latin America, 3.7%; and Western Europe, about 3.5%, says ACC chief economist Kevin Swift. “The last four years of the global economy have been the best string of four since the late 1960s, early 1970s,” Swift says.
