Butamax Advanced Biofuels (Wilmington, DE), an isobutanol jv between DuPont and BP, has signed a letter of intent to convert a Lamberton, MN ethanol facility to produce biobased butanol. Highwater Ethanol (Lamberton), which operates the 50 million gals/year ethanol plant, has agreed to be an “early adopter” of Butamax’s retrofit technology. Other terms were not disclosed.
