Chemical Week Magazine :: Newsbriefs Versalis, Genomatica, and Novamont Plan Butadiene JV8:33 AM MDT | August 3, 2012 Versalis (Milan), ENI’s (Rome) chemicals subsidiary, has agreed to form a partnership with Genomatica (San Diego) and Novamont (Novara, Italy), a leading player in biodegradable plastics, for the production of butadiene from renewable feedstocks. The partners aim to form a joint venture that will develop an end-to-end process for the production of polymer-grade butadiene from biomass. Versalis will hold a majority interest in the jv and it intends to be the first to build commercial plants using the process, once development work has been completed. Genomatica...
